Product Overview
Japanese-to-English conversion for compatible Mitsubishi vehicles equipped with an MMCS J-01 HDD-based head unit.
Installation is performed by DASHMOD INFOTAINMENT using specialist equipment. Your vehicle must be physically present at our office by confirmed appointment. This is not a downloadable or SD-card product. Head-unit hardware is not included.
Compatibility
Supported vehicle applications, when fitted with an MMCS J-01:
- Mitsubishi Outlander / Outlander XL: 2006–2012
- Mitsubishi Lancer / Lancer Evolution X: 2007–2012
- Mitsubishi Pajero / Montero / Shogun, V80/V90 series: 2006–2012
- Mitsubishi ASX / RVR / Outlander Sport: 2010–2012
- Mitsubishi Delica D:5: 2007–2012
These vehicles may have different MMCS models. Vehicle model and year alone do not confirm compatibility. Confirm the fitted head-unit model before booking.
Conversion Features
- English-language interface: Converts the head-unit menus and on-screen controls from Japanese to English.
- Japanese voice removal: Removes Japanese voice announcements.
- Optional Japanese map removal: Choose whether to retain or remove the Japanese map display. Replacement maps are not included.
- English instrument display: Changes the centre information display between the gauges to English on compatible vehicles.
- Music Server functionality: Enables full use of the built-in Music Server through English-language controls.
- Colour-scheme adjustment: Allows the interface colour scheme to be changed.
Compatible with vehicles equipped with an HFM (Hands-Free Module).
Important Limitations
The FM tuning range remains 76–90 MHz. This conversion does not expand the radio frequency range.
The conversion does not install replacement maps for Kenya or another region.
Bluetooth support is model-dependent. Bluetooth retention is offered for supported J-05 and J-06 units and is not advertised as a feature of this J-01 service.
Booking and Installation
Installation takes place at Elgon Court, Ralphe Bunche Road, by confirmed appointment. Please arrange your appointment before travelling.
The typical installation time is approximately 45 minutes, although individual units may require longer.
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling. If less notice is possible, contact us as soon as you can.
Price and Payment
The installation price is KSh 8,000, payable after installation. No advance payment is currently required.
If the conversion is unsuccessful, the head unit will be restored to its original state and no installation fee will be charged.
Customer Data
The installation is designed to preserve existing settings, saved destinations, music and other stored customer data where applicable. Data preservation cannot be guaranteed. Please tell us about important stored content or existing faults before installation.
